not a local so hopefully others can add in here.
works best on a South where it can quite steady with good wind swell.
Its quite a small parking area but the access road is long and rugged (20+ miles of dirt with infrequent maintenance) so its rarely crowded. If it is, there are side roads to coves on either side to try.
Recommend AWD/4WD vehicle with decent ground clearance.
Cell service can be spotty to non-existent so plan accordingly.
Its inside a national park but there is no gate to pay. I don't know if rangers occasionally show up
